At Riverview Village Senior Living, we’re committed to keeping you up-to-date and informed, especially during the turbulent times caused by COVID-19.
We are writing to inform you that one of our prior residents has been diagnosed positive with COVID-19. The resident was transferred to our community from a skilled nursing facility in mid-April. While she resided in our community, she was isolated from other residents and never used common areas. Yesterday she was transferred to a local hospital for an apparently unrelated health issue, where she remains now. At the hospital she tested positive for COVID-19. No other residents or staff have demonstrated COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive.
We continue to take urgent action to minimize the possible exposure associated with this virus, and all of the interventions referenced in our previous communications remain in place. Our staff continue to monitor residents for signs and symptoms as or any other changes in condition on a regular basis. Our staff continue to maintain infection control measures when interacting with our residents. We conduct multiple daily cleanings. Staff members are assigned to limited areas of the building, to minimize the risk that any infection could spread. In addition to these steps, we have contacted the local health department and they have confirmed that we are taking all actions recommended with this new diagnosis.
As always, we will notify residents’ primary physicians and designated family members of any changes in their loved one’s condition, whether potentially related to COVID-19 or not.
